Special Thanks to our Student Interns.

For the past year I have had the joy and pleasure of engaging over 50 student-interns in the New School Design Project for A School Without Walls. With the support of NYCs finest educators, Dana Lawit, Evan O’Connell, and Sharine Stevenson, our interns field tested our Passion Project curriculum, including taking part in internships, Student Led Conferences, Roundtables, and project creation, providing valuable feedback along the way that will serve our incoming teachers and 9th graders in the fall.

This spring a group of 14 interns co-created an entire school design in collaboration with Evan and me. From our grading policy to our curriculum, from the plans for shared leadership to our core values, no task was too trivial or too challenging for our student-interns to share insights, ideas, experiences, and advice. Student voice has never been so powerful or authentic in my twenty years as an educator. Thank you interns!!
